Field Trip Update

Dear Families,

We are so excited about the field trip we have planned for this Monday!  It should be a great learning experience for our students and a lot of fun too!

If you have not sent in your child’s permission form and requested donation yet, please do so as soon as possible.  Because we would not leave an individual child at school for not being able to make the donation, if we do not collect enough funds to cover the cost of our school’s admission to the museum and transportation, we will have to cancel the trip for all students.  At this point we have only collected about 2/3 of the funds needed which leaves us quite a bit short.  If we do not have enough by Friday AM, we will have no choice but to call the museum and cancel.
Thank you!

Hello All! I enjoyed meeting with you and discussing your child's progress so far this year in third grade! We are having a blast and learning so much!

I have FINALLY found some videos that can be of some help to you and your child when completing and practicing math problems at home.

Please click on the following links to learn more about some of the ways we add and subtract in our classroom. Please note: These are not all the ways we add and subtract, but are a few that can get you started. Your child should know how to start!

Subtraction on a number line
Addition- Partial Sums
Addition- Chunking on a number line

Please let me know if there is any way I can support you and your child at home with these strategies.

In addition, please refer to our school's website:
for any upcoming events and information you may need to know!

Have a wonderful day!

Welcome Back to School!!

Hello All!

Welcome back to school! The first couple of weeks have been wonderful getting to know your children and how they learn and collaborate. This week you will be receiving a phone call from me to welcome you to the new school year and address any upcoming events. Below is a copy of our first monthly newsletter to keep you in the loop on all the things going on this month in our classroom!

If you haven't already done so, please be sure to sign up for ClassDojo with our classroom code. This will let you see all the amazing behavioral and academic awards your child earns throughout the day.

Here is your child's classroom schedule as well:

Don't forget to work with your child on the homework each day: Math and Reading (with reading log)

Also, I hope to see you at Open House on Aug. 22nd at either 5:30 or 6:30. Look for more information in your child's take home folder.

It's going to be a great year :)
