Field Trip Update
Dear Families,
We are so excited about the field trip we have planned for
this Monday! It should be a great
learning experience for our students and a lot of fun too!
If you have not sent in your child’s permission form and
requested donation yet, please do so as soon as possible. Because we would not leave an individual
child at school for not being able to make the donation, if we do not collect
enough funds to cover the cost of our school’s admission to the museum and
transportation, we will have to cancel the trip for all students. At this point we have only collected about
2/3 of the funds needed which leaves us quite a bit short. If we do not have enough by Friday AM, we
will have no choice but to call the museum and cancel.
Thank
you!
Mrs. Chafin

Upcoming Events
Don't forget!!!!!!!!!!
Captain Underpants will be showing tonight at our school at 6:30, thanks to PTA! We encourage the whole family to join, but you must have a parent or guardian with you.
Next week, Red Ribbon posters are due Wednesday. Red Ribbon week is to encourage students to think about their future and stay day free. There will be a prize for best poster per grade level!
As a school, we are collecting change for United Way next week. If you are able to, please donate your loose change to United Way. The grade level that raises the most will receive a movie day and popcorn party!
Have a great weekend!

Hello All! I enjoyed meeting with you and discussing your child's progress so far this year in third grade! We are having a blast and learning so much!
I have FINALLY found some videos that can be of some help to you and your child when completing and practicing math problems at home.
Please click on the following links to learn more about some of the ways we add and subtract in our classroom. Please note: These are not all the ways we add and subtract, but are a few that can get you started. Your child should know how to start!
Subtraction on a number line
Addition- Partial Sums
Addition- Chunking on a number line
Please let me know if there is any way I can support you and your child at home with these strategies.
In addition, please refer to our school's website: www.cobbk12.org/acworth
for any upcoming events and information you may need to know!
Have a wonderful day!
